Treat yourself to a fantastic FOURTEEN  day adventure to Norway and the North Cape!

Ride through scenery of jaw-dropping beauty as you ride your rental motorcycle alongside lakes where the still waters reflect the sky in a complete mirror image. On a clear, still day every bend is a major photo opportunity - it really is just sooo pretty.

You need to organise your own flight into Oslo Gardemoen airport, pick up your motorbike from the hire depot near Oslo and depart on tour.

In the recent past our efforts to bring groups to Norway have been hampered by the absence of a direct ferry route from the UK. The only way to access Norway these days is to ride up through Holland and Denmark. This FlyRide option gives you the possibility to land in the capital, Oslo and then ride from there. You really can ride to the North Cape and back in just two weeks...

Speed is not the issue - the roads are the equivalent of our A class rural highways and the scenery is so attractive you will be happy to travel at a modest pace. If you are a speed freak then Norway is really not for you - the policing is aggressive and the fines exhorbitant... Having got that out of the way then please be assured that Norway ranks in the top three of all of the tours that we have organised over the past 25 years. Yes it really is THAT good

We have four FlyRide SelfGuided itineraries for you to choose from.  Spend a week in the Fjord area experiencing some of the best scenery taking in the Trollstigen highway and the Atlantic Road or pick our Arctic Circle tour or ride up to the North Cape.

North Cape Option:

After a night near Olso airport, it's a start to riding  through the great countryside for your introduction to Norway.  Your first day should not disappoint!   After a second overnight stay you will then stay in the “Gateway to the Arctic”, Mo-i-Rana, and your route will pass through the Arctic Circle itself , with time of course to call in at the visitor centre and get a certificate to prove you have been.

Continuing northwards through the tundra-like terrain you can truly start to appreciate the vast, open space. Watch out for the reindeer! It’s a wonderful experience! Honningsvag is the base for visiting the North Cape and this is where you will spend two nights. On your journey there you can call into Hammerfest, the world's most northernmost town,  with it’s new heated pavements in the wintertime or visit the wonderful ancient rock carvings near Alta. In Honningsvag you can enjoy this unique experience and opportunity to understand how people live in this northern town where the weather and seasons dictate the pace and way of life. On your free day take the short ride to the North Cape and have your photo taken in this very special spot and collect your certificate if you wish to prove another landmark visited! And afterwards there is plenty to do in the area from a chill after the ride north or a “bird safari” boat trip, or even a “king crab” safari, or experience something of the Saami (Lapland) culture! This whole area has had lots of publicity in recent times as the TV programme  "71° North” was filmed here.

The North Cape enjoys a long season of "midnight sun" - from 14 May - 29 July so there is plenty of time to experience this wonderful phenomenon (see photo of two girls taken at midnight).

After your time at the top of Europe, you then turn and begin to head south with a first port of call into the Arctic City of Tromsø – affectionately called the Paris of the north. We continue southwards heading for the city of Trondheim – the former capital of Norway and home of the Nidaros Cathedral followed by a night in Lillehammer, location of the winter olympics

The hotels on this tour are a mixture of modern Norwegian chain hotels (small chains – as nothing in Norway is huge) and family run establishments. Please note that our tour includes nearly all dinners at our specially contracted rates. Hotel food is good in Norway and this will save you expensive dining out. Some of our hotels belong to special culinary groups to promote the use of local produce and fayre.

This itinerary is a “standard” itinerary which will provide a wonderful tour through Norway. It can of course be “tailored” to meet you needs and possible changes/add-ons include:
Lofoten Islands - whale watching
Ride over the top of Norway to the Russian border
Travel through Sweden – possibilities include crossing the Arctic Circle in Sweden or a night at the famous “Ice Hotel”
This tour uses roads – no off-road riding
