Come with us on this Deep South tour and discover a rich heritage of Country Music, Gospel Music, Blues, Rhythm & Blues, Tamla Motown, visit the birthplace of Rock'n'Roll and ride some of the best motorcycling roads in USA.

This FIFTEEN day tour starts and ends in Atlanta, Georgia.  We travel through six US States, Tennessee, Mississippi, Georgia, Louisiana, Alabama, North Carolina. From Atlanta we ride on our hired motorcycles to Nashville via the Jack Daniels Distillery.  One our free day in Nashville you can visit the Country Music Hall of Fame an Studio B of the RCA Recording Studios. After TWO nights in Nashville we ride via Natchez Trace to Memphis where we spend another TWO nights in a conveniently located town centre hotel. So much to see and do - we visit the recording studios of Stax and Sun Studios where Elvis recorded his first hit record.  In the downtown area we stop by Lorraine Motel, now a fascinating museum on the very spot where Martin Luther King was assassinated and in the evening stroll along Beale Street enjoying the live acts playing Jazz, Rhythm & Blues and Rock'n'Roll!

Leaving Memphis we visit Graceland (not cheesy despite what you may think). It's an extraordinary rags to riches story with some interesting asides. At Graceland there are the original cheques for not insignificant sums signed by Elvis Presley to countless local orphanages and charitable concerns as well as the original costumes, guitars and platinum/gold records all on display. Remarkable.

We travel towards the grand Mississippi and visit the Delta Blues Museum at Clarksdale where they have a photograph signed by Mick Jagger and Keith Richard. You want to know where those early influences came from? This whole area is the birthplace of Rock'n'Roll. Come with us to Ground Zero and listen to live Rhythm & Blues. It's simply awesome.

After an overnight stop in Vicksburg we ride onwards on our motorcycles to spend THREE nights in New Orleans right on the edge of the French Quarter with ready access to all that Bourbon Street has to offer - a veritable cornucopia of musical talent! Jazz bands playing wind instruments on street corners, endless bars with gaudy neon exteriors featuring live rhythm and blues, moody singers singing moody blues. You have to see it, feel it, experience it to believe it!

We include in the tour a night on the Mississippi on a paddle steamer listening to live jazz, a ride out to one of the nearby Plantation Houses and there are lots of other options that you may wish to explore for yourself - a bus tour of Katrina sights, a city tour that takes in a Civil War and a WW2 museum, a walk in the park dedicated to Louis Armstrong or some more parochial ghost tours, voodoo tours and all manner of bizarre activities to soak away your tourist dollars. Seafood restaurants par excellence by the way... Yes I think you will really enjoy New Orleans!

And that's just one part of the tour. When we get away from the Big Easy we take you for a motorcycle ride on country routes that will simply delight you. We will ride the Tail of the Dragon and the Cherohala Skyway in the Smoky Mountains and hopefully witness the changing of the colours on the trees as autumnal leaves take on a red, ochre and yellow hue. Check out the pictures but it's difficult to capture the awesome beauty at this time of year - you have to see it for yourself.

We will also spend THREE nights in a Bavarian style town at the time of the Oktoberfest There will be an optional visit to the Barber Museum and the Civil Rights Museum in Birmingham, Alabama where there is a very moving black and white video of Martin Luther King's famous address to the assembled throng. Yes, I have a dream...

Well there you have it. We absolutely love our time in the Deep South USA. Oops, I forgot to mention the Grand Olde Opry (a MUST for Country Music lovers!)  Just can't wait to go back!
