The Pyrenees offer some of the best riding roads in Europe, and after taking the Portsmouth to Santander ferry we will enjoy three days riding across the entire length of the Pyrenees to Barcelona (often on the famous N-260) riding some of best, empty roads in Europe - miles of sweeping bends and beautiful scenery on the Spanish side of the Pyrenees.
After traversing the Pyrenees we will spend one night in Barcelona, facilitating a day off the bikes to wander along the Ramblas, visit the famous (and finally finished) Cathedral etc before boarding an overnight ferry to Palma. There's lots to do and plenty of excitement in this great city by the sea!
We will arrive early in Palma, enabling us to enjoy a ride out on the glorious roads that make this island a favourite for motor vehicle launches and tests, including the UNESCO World Heritage recognised Serra de Tramuntana maintains and the serpentine road to Sa Calobra. Staying for three nights so there is time for relaxing off of the bike, or taking in a couple more spectacular ride-outs.
Our return leg from Mallorca involves an overnight ferry to Toulon on the Mediterranean coast, from where we will ride along Route Napoleon and through the Jura mountains and Champagne region over four days to Calais, and a short crossing back to Blighty (the tunnel is an option too).
Great hotels, fantastic roads there and back, and the chance to ride the largest of the Balearic Islands - simply marvellous!
